General Terms and Conditions of Use of the SOCIA platform

I. Introduction

Welcome to SOCIA development inc (hereinafter referred to as, «we», «us» or «the Company»), your activity sharing platform, designed to connect people with similar interests and enrich their experience of discovering and participating in various local activities. By using SOCIA on our website and soon on our mobile applications on iOS and Android, you agree to our Terms of Use (hereinafter «TOU»). These TOU govern access to and use of SOCIA by all, including both individual users and professional entities.

SOCIA is much more than just a platform. It's a technological tool for good times in real life. Designed for individuals and entities wishing to discover or promote activities, SOCIA facilitates encounters between enthusiasts and organizers.

For individuals

SOCIA offers you the possibility of proposing or registering for activities free of charge, encouraging exchanges and new friendships.

For entities

highlight your events to an engaged community, thanks to visibility options tailored to your needs.

Simplicity is our motto. View available activities, find out more about the organizers, find what you're passionate about and join the community. However, a few rules apply to guarantee the quality of our platform:

It is important to note that this list is not exhaustive. We reserve the right to assess and decide at our discretion whether an activity complies with our standards and principles, and we retain the right to modify, suspend or remove an activity.

Users should use good judgment to avoid borderline or inappropriate behavior. We encourage activities that promote positivity, sharing and community enrichment.

User behaviour

Each user is responsible for his or her actions and must always behave in a way that respects and does not harm other members of the community. Repeated violations of these rules may result in sanctions, including account deletion.

We reserve the right to modify these TOU at any time without notice. However, we undertake to inform users of any substantial modification. The information will be communicated at the time of the next connection to the platform or by another appropriate method.

Your continued use of our platform following these changes constitutes your acceptance of these new terms. If you do not agree with the changes to our TOS, you should stop using our platform.

We encourage you to periodically visit this page to review any changes or updates to our TOU.

IX. Applicable law and jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. They are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Quebec courts.

In the event of any dispute, conflict, claim or controversy arising out of or relating to these T&Cs or the use of our platform, we first encourage an attempt at amicable resolution. If such resolution is not possible, the dispute may be submitted to the competent courts of the province of Quebec.

Although we favor the amicable resolution of disputes, the parties may agree to resort to arbitration to resolve any dispute. In this case, arbitration will be conducted in accordance with the Arbitration Rules of the Arbitration Institute of Quebec (or another mutually agreed arbitration body). The arbitration will be held in Chicoutimi, Quebec, or at any other location mutually agreed upon by the parties. It should be noted that the decision to resort to arbitration must be made by mutual agreement between the parties after the dispute has arisen.

To the extent permitted by law, the parties waive their right to bring or participate in a class action or any other type of representative proceeding. This waiver will be subject to the discretion of the competent court or arbitration body.
